I've been watching development of this game for a while with big expectations as I am huge fan of management games and I've been missing good hockey management game on the market.

I would like to be a GM of NHL franchise with as much authentic features as possible. I know that for marketing reasons you have incorporated historical mode in a game but I really would like you to focus on the the game as such.

I am glad to see efforts of dev team to fix all necessary thing in order to get a fine playable game. I also understand all the people saying that it should not be released before properly finished but I will no be digging into it any more as I am not aware of many many aspects of releasing a game.

I am just an enthusiast that can't wait to enjoy this game.

As soon as I will be reading positive reviews after all those patches I am definitely going to buy this game.

Keep it up gens.

Good luck

Can we get a fix so that we can specify the start date of a custom league instead of them automatically starting in 2013?

Apologies if this has been fixed and I have somehow missed it.

It's not really a fix. It would be an added feature and one that would be great to see.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but trying to re-sign roster players to a two-way contract has an issue - namely, that the minors salary window defaults to the NHL salary even if you try to change it manually instead of with the arrow buttons.

Thanks for the update and I'll wait patiently for the patch - I promise!

New CBA .... unless play is on their Entry Level contract, there are minimum salaries for a player on a two way contract as far as their salary in the minors
11.12 Minimum Paragraph 1 Salary. [...]
2012-13 – $525,000
2013-14 — $550,000
2014-15 – same
2015-16 – $575,000
2016-17 – same
2017-18 – $650,000
2018-19 – same
2019-20 – $700,000
2020-21 – same
2021-22 – $750,000

Wow, so the days of $129,000 minors salaries are over? *looks at cap, gulps in fear*

Thanks for the update

I really appreciate all your team's hard work on this.

I know that sometimes our passion for FHM is mistranslated into frustration, but we are all here because we believe in the team and the product.

It can't be easy with a small team of programmers working on this number-crunching behemoth.

I think players with two way deals still make less in the AHL/ECHL, then in the NHL, otherwise, what would be the point of a two way deal?

Better, there's language in place in the new CBA about burying contracts as well (the Wade Redden rule). Two way contracts, though ensuring the player gets paid more for playing in the AHL does have a much lower cap hit. From CapGeek:
Money paid to players outside of the NHL counts against the cap.
A one-way contract counts against the cap as follows:
cap hit – [ minimum salary + $375,000 ]Example: If Wade Redden plays in the minors in 2012-13, he counts as follows.
$6.5M – [ $525,000 + $375,000 ] = $5.6MA two-way contract counts as follows:
minor-league salary – [ minimum salary + $375,000 ]Example: Player A’s two-way contract pays $3M/$1M in 2012-13 and counts as follows in the minors.
$1M – [ $525,000 + $375,000 ] = $100,000

I've been supporting the team so far, but it's getting kinda annoying.

It's been weeks since the last update, and it seems like the development team isn't even answering to the questions anymore. Logic = release buggy game that no one plays and ask full price for it = release fhm 15 (possible another half done and unplayable game) next year, ask another full price for it.

I'll think twice before buying FHM 15. And don't give me that 'OOTP' has been in development for 14 years crap. Does that mean we will have to wait 14 years and buy 14 different versions of FHM until the game will be playable? I guess I'll just have to wait 14 years and get FHM 2028.

So where's the option to hire head coaches, add expansion teams, better search filter? That is game breaking things that should be on the very top of your fix list

I know we are all entitled to our own opinions, but "game breaking" isn't the right word to use. Does the lack of these options prevent the game from working? No they don't. So don't say they are game breaking. They are exactly what you said, "options". Some people will want to use those options some might not. Would I like to see the ability to add expansion teams right now? Absolutely. But just because it isn't there doesn't mean the game is broken. I am having fun playing the game as it currently is.

Perhaps not really the right place in the forum for this, but in reply to a few posts above:
While not completely game breaking, the lack of a search function, and the lack of filtering beyond just player position can be severely hampering to gameplay.

Putting together a team with role players when going through the initial draft of a custom league, or when looking for the right fit free agent with the only filter possible being player position when combined with previous sort order and list positions being reset after viewing player details results in a painful, drawn out process.

I am more interested in the bug and crash fixes planned for 2.0, but hope 3.0 might include improvements for searching and filtering.

This is the first time I've bought a game, and I've been told that it might become playable after few versions. Imagine if a big company like rockstar did this with a new GTA? They released GTA 6 and told you to wait an year and promise the next version will be better?

"We promise that GTA 7 will be better, sorry that GTA 6 was unplayable, but thanks for supporting us. Just wait an year and pay another 60 bucks for a playable version, kkthxbye"

I expect my games to be playable when I buy them, just sayin'. Even if it's the "first version"
