Apparently the owner would be happy if we play over .500.
I was hoping for better. Having said THAT, the preseason predictions are bad. 65-75 and 6th out of 8 in the league. Huh... I didn't think the team was that bad... In real life they were 79-57. I guess the game doesn't like the trades I made... Jimmy Sheckard is predicted to be the 8th best hitter in the NL and Jim Hughes the 10th best pitcher. In an 8 team league... that's not so great. Oh, the offseason centre has Brooklyn as the worst performing team by WAR lost. Oops. Let's see why... It is the Frank Kitson trade primarily. They don't think Bill Bradley is worth it. I also got Ed Scott but I flipped him for Wilbert Robinson... who they also don't like. Sigh. We'll see. I do have the #7 prospect in the majors - catcher Dylan McCord - down in AA. The positional strength report has me best in the majors at CF (Joe Kelley) and relief (Amos Rusie), but last in RF (Farmer Steelman) and not so great at C (Robinson). Prospect report 7 - Dylan McCord - C - AA 12 - Felix Julio - RF - S A 20 - Ray Rutledge - 3B - AAA 35 - Raphael Giugharo - C - R 41 - Mauro Garza - MR - AA 70 - Bruce Duncan - SS - ML 76 - Cristobal De Jesus - CF - AAA 77 - Manuel Mora - SS - AAA 94 - Steve Wise - LF - AAA 97 - Joe Sanders - 2B - S A We are ranked the third best minor league system, behind Baltimore and St. Louis. The rival Giants came to Brooklyn for the first time this season... and that was bad for the Superbas. Christy Mathewson was dealing and the Brooklyn defense was sloppy... but no defense stops those two home runs. New York won 7-2. WP - Christy Mathewson (1-1) LP - Jim Hughes (0-2) Record - 2-3 |
