New to OOTP couple questions

1-What does "Overall Ratings based upon AI evaluation, not pure ratings" mean?

What I assume, but not sure, is that if that is unchecked the overall ratings is the true ratings, and if it is checked it is based upon scouting (which could has some errors), but I am a little confused.

2-I accidentally fired my trainer, and he is the only one in the available personnel list, he won't come back, will more trainers appear over time? In this case it isn't a big deal since I am only a week in, I can just start over, but just wondering.

3-Not a questions as much as an observation, I noticed the few times I have simulated a season there have been no post season awards. Is there a setting that I am missing. So far I have only done 2013 MLB seasons, nothing custom or historical yet.

1: The Overall Rating is decided on by use of the 4 percentages you setup on the AI tab in the setup page, otherwise with that not checked, it is based completely on the ratings on a player (though I do believe it is based on your scouted ratings, not "true" ratings, unless you have scouting turned off, or set to 100% Accurate)

2: I assume there will be more, however, this is one of those cases where I have a 2nd manager of no team, but is in Commish Mode, so I can go back and fix little ooopsies like that.

3: I haven't seen that happen to me yet (though, like you I've only done 1 season in the MLB quickstart so far, and in the first offseason, I had awards handed out.

1. I'm not 100% on this so I'll leave it to a more seasoned vet to answer

2. More coaches do appeal, especially if you have College and HS feeders. Once their seasons are done with (late May, early June) all FA coaches, trainers, scouts show up in the available personnel pool. Same is true with all minor league personnel after their seasons are completed in sept.

3. do you mean the actual "post-season" like World Series MVP or just the seasonal awards? OOTP does NOT have any Post-Season Awards, just seasonal and you should have the option to vote for them or let the AI to pick the winners.

Mid November, it was after the awards were given out, I have since deleted that league, it was mainly to just play around with settings and stuff.

i think awards are normally given out Nov. 7 -21, somewhere in there, but you should get an email saying who won if you have it checked, but if you didn't get an email or deleted the email I don't think it shows up in the history until the calendar year rolls over. I think..

I'm on the beta team and I don't even quite know what that AI eval option means. But I'm about 85% sure it means this: in Game Setup, you can instruct the AI to evaluate players by weighting certain criteria: ratings, this year's stats, last year's stats, and two-years ago stats. The 'Overall Rating' is the rating in the top right of each Player Profile (either on a 5-star scale or on the 20-80 scale, depending on your settings). The game can take your ratings/stats percentages into account when working out that Overall rating, or it can base the Overall rating purely on a player's Contact, Power, Eye, Speed, etc ratings, and ignore stats altogether. I think that's what the option is meant to control.

New personnel will appear but you may need to wait a while. It's a bit odd though not to have any extra 'free agent' coaches or trainers floating around.

You will see awards, don't worry! They're given out a couple of weeks after the World Series ends. I'm pretty sure there's no way to even turn the awards off, so the only way to miss them was if you set your news subscription settings to 'my team only' or something - then you might not get the email about them.

Yeah, overall rating based on AI eval is how you do stats only overall ratings like they said.

As for the trainers, if you are using the MLB quickstart, a lot of the trainers are not listed as trainers, try searching for staff with good trainer ratings, not necessarily trainers.
