I want to pre-order..I really do. But considering that I can't get the latest patch to work on either of my machines, I'm very hesitant.

My question is, if I pre-order, and then find out that I can't get the game to work, will I be able to get a full refund?

Yes, that is no problem!

Just to clarify, if I buy the game for Mac and I want to put it on my PC, I'll either need to spend another $30 or I'll need to wait to see if you actually find a better licensing scheme? Why can't you use PISD for all three platforms?

Kudos Markus and team!

This version looks promising - the pitch ratings feature has me very intrigued, and I also like the looks of the new skin.

Way to go!

Because of copy protection issues. We cannot afford to have OOTP for the PC get hacked, and eLicense offers a very secure system. Until we find an equally safe method for the PISD OOTP licensing we will stay with elicense.

Argh.

So we still can't, as far as we know, run on both a PC and Mac without buying the game twice. We might be able to do so, at an unspecified time, but no guarantees.

Augh.

Will you be able to disable playoffs in this version? For example, single league, 12 teams, no divisions. I want the team that ends the season with the best record to be the champion. No playoffs. No ties for second resulting in a forced extra game, that you can't delete. I am probably the only one concerned with this, but it will be a deciding factor when it comes to purchasing v10. (by the way, Markus, please look at this as compliment, as it shows how happy I am with v9)

Hmm... okay. So what happens if I buy a PC and a Mac version of the game and you find a valid protection system? Will I be credited for the Mac version or just get an additional license of the game?

I'm most impressed with the 'widgets' idea. That's going to rock (I hope)!

I'm also impressed with the new pitching system. It looks like Stuff/Movement/Control are staying, though. Wonder how that will work. Do pitch ratings drive the Stuff/Movement/Control ratings?

No mention of further implementation of LGO's playoff model. Can we expect to see bye's this year?

Definitely going to preorder, though. This looks great!

Markus..I could kiss you for the Inaugural Draft Budget feature. Going down the list of new features, its amazing that you listened to the community. Amazing job!! I wish you could take over SI too!!

Will the blue skin still be available?

It did say that it will ship with four skins, so I'm willing to bet the blue one will be there.

I have to say, I kinda like the edgy black look, though. But then, I liked the new one for OOTP 9 for about 3 weeks and then switched back to the Blue. So we'll see.

I'm in agreement with the mac/pc thing. I'm not paying twice for the same thing. So that's too bad.

Did OOTP 9 have a world baseball classic type mode in it? If not, will 10? I definitely want something like that to play with so that players on my teams roster might get injured or something during that for the regular season.

Thanks Neags. I guess in my excitement, I missed that.

SI used the widgets thing for FM/WWSM 2009. If anyone wants a sneak preview of what they will be like, may I suggest dling the demo of that game?

Great news. Widgets, pitching and skins, oh my!
And that logo for 10 (X) is sweet.

What an interesting set of changes

I remember back when I first found text sims, after giving up on the arcade style games, it was PureSim I found first. I casually would make a list of things that I wish the game had, it was well into the hundreds. Then I came across OOTP 8, the list dropped dramatically but was still well into the 40's. Now here we arrive, at the doorstep of OOTP 10, and just going off the list in the email, my want list, for my absolutely perfect baseball simulation game is now down to only 17 more items.

Markus, if you happen to read this, I would love to share my list with you and see if you can sneak a few more into this release

Features sound great. I love the individual pitch ratings and think generating ratings from statistics will be much easier for those of us who like to play with real historical rosters. Also Minor League DL is a big plus. One question, was there any changes to spring training allowing non-roster invitees?

Thanks again.
