Struggling To Keep My Save Going
Hi, basically I would like feedback and suggestions on what to do for my current save. Currently I am in 2038 offseason coming off my 4th World Series win in a row and have won a total of ten World Series's since 2019, My struggle to continue is with my owner as he continues to decrease my budget year after year even though he is listed as charitable and I continue to lead the league in revenue; its becoming overly frustrating and I understand this is a probably a real life problem too like real life mets ownership as I play as the jays and I'm a big market team too but it isn't fun anymore even though this has been my favourite play through since ootp 17. Ive tried starting up new saves but its been hard to continue them and I do enjoy setting up fictional leagues but I can never play as them for some reason I don't enjoy that aspect. My issue is I can't seem to walk away from this save as I've invested so much into it, what should I do?

Take over the worst team in your league and try to build them into a winner.

If all that you enjoy about the game is winning World Series rings, OOTP has nothing more to offer you. Unless you cheat, your dynasty will wither, as all dynasties do in the modern MLB. That your owner wants to divert your revenue stream elsewhere - perhaps he has his own space program - will just hasten the decline.
If what you enjoy is the challenge of running a team through thick and thin, start looking to the future, when your current crop of stars will inevitably fade. Trade them now for young prospects and salary relief. You also might want to think about changing the league and game rules. Expand the Majors, and risk losing players to the expansion draft. Either add or subtract the DH to make the environment less familiar to you. Make trading harder. Reduce scouting accuracy. Limit the ratings that you can see. Impose minor league roster limits on yourself (not on the AI teams, as they have trouble handling them). Once you've "solved" a game, repeating the successful strategy over and over again isn't a lot of fun. |

No worries, if all your stars are over 35 you have interesting times and challenges ahead.

If youre playing with the default settings, change it up a bit. No overall ratings, change the eval settings to only stats, change scouting accuracy to low or even very low, turn on draft pick trading, etc.
Maybe add the independent leagues if you havent already and create a US Independent Association with a playoff between all of the league winners at the end. |
