Tailor Made #1 (Coors!)
Hey everyone, starting a series of dynasty reports where I construct a roster that is “tailor made” to the teams ballpark. Would like to eventually get around to all 30 teams, but right now starting with the Rockies! I am using a 2019 live start, and starting on June 17th.
Alright, loaded up the game, first order of business. Get Freeland, Gray, and Hoffman the hell out of Colorado. Sub 40 movement in Coors isn’t gonna work. Looked around for high movement, high ground ball guys, first guy I noticed was Mike Soroka. Braves wanted Marquez + my choice of Dahl or Story, so he will not be coming to Colorado. Too expensive for me. Next guy I saw was Colten Brewer. Shipped Jeff Hoffman to Boston in exchange for him. 1st transaction complete. Boston receives: SP Jeff Hoffman Colorado receives: RP Colten Brewer Looked around more for some pitchers with high movement that I wanted. Found Brad Keller but Royals wanted more than I was willing to give up, so moving on from that. Now would like to dump the other 2 SP I talked about earlier, Gray and Freeland. Shopped Freeland around, and Carson Kelly popped up. Young promising catcher who can help out my pitchers with his defense. Was a no-brainer for me. Turned it into a bigger deal and got Archie Bradley too. Final trade was Arizona receives: SP Kyle Freeland C Chris Iannetta C Jacob Barnwell Colorado receives: C Carson Kelly RP Archie Bradley Now, the last one to go will be Jon Gray. Hit that ever so handy shop button, and watched the magic happen. Astros for some reason really wanted him, they offered a bunch of really good pieces (including Ryan Pressley and Jose Altuve??). Couldn’t pull the trigger on Altuve, it felt cheap. Went with Frambler Valdez instead, with that addition my rotation looks pretty promising. Houston receives: SP Jon Gray Colorado receives: SP Frambler Valdez With all those trades, I was short 1 starter, so I DFA’d Mike Dunn and called up Chi Chi Gonzalez to be the follower for the opener. Who the opener is will rotate. My pitching situation & lineups are in the pictures below. Let me know what you guys thought about this! I will make another post on this thread after I’m done with the 2019 season & offseason. It will contain a recap of the rest of the season, and what I did in the offseason. If there’s any way I can improve my dynasty report let me know. Hope you all enjoy! |
