Relatively new to hockey

Hi there,

Long time OOTP player and as such when I saw there was an ice hockey game by the same developers it caught my interest!

However my knowledge of ice hockey is very limited, as I attend games in the UK infrequently but that's it.

So my question is, if I get FHM will I be able to jump in straight away or would I be better off learning the rules thoroughly before getting the game?

If you've played OOTP, a lot of the basic stuff you will understand. For parts you are not sure about, you can use the Assistant to help set up your roster in the beginning and make adjustments afterward, but the toughest part for someone who is a little unfamiliar with the game may be understanding the tactics. Again, you can use the default or AI here to help you learn and be sure to check out the manual as well for some basic knowledge ( Out of the Park Developments Online Manuals ).

The decision is really up to you. Having limited knowledge can be a hindrance, but the game will help you understand it as well - Plus you have a great community of people here on the forums to help answer further questions.

There will be a new blog for FHM2 going around the end of January/early February that may answer some of your questions, and of course, we'll be streaming the game again Thursday (10pm Eastern, so I know that will be either really late or super early for you), but the streams will be archived on YouTube on the OOTPDevelopments channel.

If there is something in particular you would like to see, please let me know (PM please) and I'll try and get it in the Stream.
