The most important thing that makes the 19th century replays unrealistic is the inability of the player to manually reset fatigue. If we could do that, I think we could start games in 1876 (which takes care of folding teams and odd numbers involved in replaying the National Association). I don't understand why I can edit out an injury, but I can't edit out fatigue so that Jim Devlin can get his 70 starts at full strength.

Given that teams only scheduled 1 or 2 games per week I have found in my leagues that pitchers are not very fatigued at all. Seems like this may be a schedule issue even more than a fatigue issue? It might be good to get real schedules introduced into the game to help with this issue.

The normal 1876 schedule was games Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Those three games within the 5 day fatigue period regularly have poor Mr. Devlin exhausted by the fifth inning of the third game.

Whatever is easiest to do sounds good to me.

Something else occurs to me belatedly. I'd like to see settings that prevented any substitutions at all, except for injuries, in accordance with the rules prior to 1889.
