OOTP 15 Crashes

I have reached my 2020 season and now when I simulate to the preseason, it works. But once the sim stops and I try to go back to my manager's office, the game stops working and shuts down.

Not sure what is causing this nor has it happened in the past.

Any suggestions?

The only time my game has crashed is when I try to play a game where there is no starting pitcher selected.

Which really doesn't help the OP very much.

Sounds like something's corrupted, but I'm not sure what it would be. My best advice is to open a support ticket and see if they can't find the problem for you.

Is it just me or are these boards a lot more snarky than they used to be?

Even though it may seem unrelated make sure all drivers and especially video drivers are up to date. Windows does't always do this right for my Nvidia card so I use a utility from Nvidia. In my experience this is a common source of crashes. YMMV

Check that your HDD is not excessively fragmented. Defrag if necessary.

Next, back up the entire league file in game then restore it with a different league name. I don't claim it will fix things but it has worked for me in the past on two different leagues. Again I could be dreaming all this but my impression is that restoring the league causes all the files to be contiguous on the HDD.

Disc cleanup and defrag....I haven't had a crash since performing these operations.

If this doesn't 'do it', make sure your computer isn't in an energy saving mode when playing and see if that makes a difference but try the cleanup and defrag first.
