Home Run Distance?

Does OOTP keep a log of the HR distance somewhere? I wanted to see who is hitting the ball the farthest. Or keep track of the longest HR in certain parks.

You would only be able to do this manually by reviewing the LOG report of each game. HRs listed on this report will show the distance.

You can also use software to search the PBP files for that information to make it easier.

It would be nice if you could see the distance during the HR Derby

The distance number is meaningless. If the game simulates a HR was hit, no matter the distance it’ll be a HR.

True, but it's eye candy and adds immersion when you can see the actual distance like real life

I am away from my computer but I thought the home run derby homers distance was in the top right boxes or so I thought. Is there a way to just watch the home run derby without doing the actual hitting like letting the computer bat? Thanks for any info

I mean yeah, but play a game in the Polo Grounds and watch HRs hit 520 feet to dead center because the game first generates the HR and then only afterwards figures out where it was hit (and the Polo Grounds was a pretty extreme HR park and for reasons that other extreme HR parks don't necessarily have - insanely short LF and RF lines - so the game will simulate a good deal of dingers to the alleys and CF).

I'm not saying this is a downside per se, just an artifact of the game working the way it does.

I understand the cosmetics of the HR distance.

It's your game, play it your way.

For me, it's immersion, ymmv.
