I use 0/50/33/17. I play stats-only.

you are going to get a large array of answers and suggestions. This is a very open ended question.
Many like the default at 65/20/10/5 Many other like a little more stats to be taken into consideration with 55/25/15/5 And still others like a 50/50 split with 50/30/15/5 and for those who like ratings to be the bulk of consideration, but still have stats be the majority of the overall grade, there is 40/30/20/10 The default for fictional leagues is 30/50/15/5 Last edited by PSUColonel; 04-02-2020 at 04:17 PM. |

I'm very curious about the first one, and also what differences you've experienced between the two. Strikes me as a distinctly odd pair.
Waddup widdat, Sir?

I’m now using 0/50/25/25 as it get me better results because things have changed in the last few years like GM’s having their own evaluation and defense getting more love in the rating formula. I keep it even because the %’s are prorated. Ratings will always be used despite having 0% for ratings especially if their is t much stats to go off of. |

I thought I saw you mention it helps with contract demands in a thread? I assume also AI promotions, demotions, releases etc.? The bold part is very interesting too with regard to changes under the hood in the last few versions. I didn't realize this was the default for fictional. Thinking of a change when off season comes. I don't think I've changed this over the years while my league, through attrition, has become fictional. |

ai stats weight

I’m also seeing better roster moves by the AI which includes Contracts, trades, promotion/demotion and waivers. I never see any players that put up great stats in the current year get undervalued but at the same time not be over valued because of their stats from the past few seasons will normalize them. Ratings still play a role but it’s not over powering in decision making for the AI. A lot of roster moves just make sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s worth test out and see and see what balance you like.
Keep in mind that your global AI evaluation will not be the same for every GM as they have their own balance which take reference from your global settings. Example, some GM’s may prefer a little more weight for scouting/ratings compared to other GM’s despite having your global setting at 0. Last edited by SirMichaelJordan; 04-02-2020 at 06:24 PM. |

I'm liking the fictional default... 30/50/15/5... but I am running a fictional MLB universe.

Yeah, after seeing that and SMJ's 0\50\25\25 it started me rethinking what I have. My game has run so long with little changes I did not realize stock OOTP came with two different AI evaluation defaults. Kind of looking forward to finishing my current season so I can try it out.

Yes, the reason the MLB set is set at 65/20/10/5 is basically to massage the AI into keeping things parellel to the actual MLB.
to me, 65 is likelly too high for ratings, as the AI just doesn't take actual performance enough into consideration when it comes to depth charts, contract negotiations etc. Conversely, I also feel 30 is too low for ratings. Here the AI will at times waive or release good players who may not be performing well. This is why I have always liked something closer tho the middle of the road. 40/30/20/10 is good so is 50/30/15/5 or 55/25/15/5 |
