Trading draft picks

Just curious about the difference between the two options. Both located under League settings and rules.

Under trading of recently drafted players there is the option of "Allow draft pick trading"

Under Amateur draft settings there is the option of "Allow major league deals for draft picks"

Anyone know the difference?

"Draft pick trading" is the mechanism used in the NFL, NBA and NHL. IRL, the MLB doesn't allow this, unless it's a Competitive Balance (awarded by lottery) pick. This is simply, for example, the ability to trade your first round pick BEFORE that selection is made.

"Allow major league deals for draft picks" is allowing you to offer a major league contract (forcing you to add them to the 40-man roster immediately) in addition to a signing bonus. This was allowed under MLB rules until about 2012. I believe Bryce Harper was the last one to secure one of these deals before it was outlawed.

Allow Draft Pick Trading: Allows you to trade draft picks such as a 1st round pick for either another player or draft pick

Allow major League deals for draft picks: this allows you to sign the player you drafted to a major league deal instead of a minor league deal. For example I can draft Austin Martin and sign him to a major league deal right away
