Robbing the cradle

So my manager career started at 17 (yeah, a bit unrealistic but I want to have a long career and produce some major league offspring)

My character is now 36 and divorced several months ago, now he's in a relationship with a 19 year old?!!! Never had this happen before (usually she's about the same age), but, DAMN - I'M THE MAN!!!

Just think, now you can take out your "girlfriend" and have the waiter ask what your daughter would like to drink....

I don't think the game cared much about ages of the managers and wives. I always start out as a 0-year-old. Never had problems finding wives 18 years older than me, and usually reach the five kids quota before 10.

And if I start the career with wife and kids, sometimes I'll get a 2-year-old wife, and a 16-year-old kid.

I just made sure I have as many kids as possible, once you get 5 the game won't let you have more!

Not to mention my daughters name is "dammit hun where is my son?"

But I did get 4 boys, too bad the last one doesn't have any baseball skills, two of them are in the majors, one is a star the other shouldn't be and then the youngest skilled one is in A ball.

Kids

So do you actually get the chance to draft one of yours kids in the manager mode. I haven't tinkered with it much cause mainly concentrating on being an owner plus in manager mode I couldn't edit certain players in my historical league that were out of wack so I just retired.

If you can draft them is in just in fictional mode since historical will take in "real" rookies each year?

Yes you can draft your kids.

But I started in 2003 so there is no "real" rookies. After about 2027 all the real players in GeForce are retired, which is about when I finally had kids old enough to play.

If you want to give MM another go, there IS a utility that lets you toggle it on and off so you can edit stuff. It's available here.

My in-game wife almost always ends up being a year or two older than me.

When I turned 41, I decided that my 40 year old wife was getting a little "long in the tooth". I divorced her, and not a month later was dating a 19 year old!

I'm such a jerk. I was probably cheating. Maybe the 19 year old was my secretary. Maybe she was a ball girl.

I'm a bad, bad man.

Thanks eriq.....wish I had had that utility during the season. Thats why I love OOTP more and more everyday because of the great utility developers and support forums.

I bet my boy Connor aafter I drafted and developed into a bonafide all star woulda refused to resign with me or wouldn't sign as a free agent "I simply don't like your organization" lol

You've got to look out though if you have any sons. I had a similar situation and my son stole my wife. So I cut the bastard and made sure he never played in the bigs again. He finally wound up coaching A ball for the Tigers. Serves him right
