Fast sim Historical League
As a member of the 20th Century, I must say its been a lot of fun. I was wondering if there was enough interest to have a league similar to it. We could keep it at the same pace of the 20th Century league, or maybe only sim one month per day for six straight days to allow a little more time for trading and a chance to call up rookies in September.
Let me know if interested. You can also E-Mail me at IatricSB@hotmail.com

That would be one fast moving league. I'd prefer a league where it's a little slower than that to actually enjoy the old days. If you're simming that fast you'd have multiple seasons done in a month and it would be kinda boring in a way, at least to me.

20CC does one year per week. Two months are simmed each day (Mon, Tue, Wed), the series is on Thursday, the draft is on Friday, and we start all over again on Monday.
The whole idea is to get through all 100 years of history. If we simmed slow, we'd be on OOTP67 by then. Its not for everybody... I already run two leagues that are normal sim speeds (Boys of Summer currently in 1921...started in 1904 and Golden Days Baseball currently in 1942...started in 1919)

I can add you to the list if you'd like. Sometimes we go five or more seasons without an opening. Sometimes we can have an unexpected opening. Ya never know.

Alright I'd join just to see what happened during those 100 years since it would go so fast.

Stacy, will you have the hiring and firing as 20CC does? I would like to take part if there's no firing.

I'm not sure, but I think the NABL is the fastest, or one of the fastest... we started at the beginning of the year at 1901 and are now in the midst of 1912.... M-Th of Week one is the 1st half of the season, M-W of Week 2 the 2nd half and playoffs, with Week 3 the off-season... if we continue this pace, we should complete 17 or 18 seasons by the end of the 1st year of league play....

I am saying I don't want any firing. I want to control a team from start to finish. |

I just signed up for the web space last night and will begin working on a web site. I'll start drafting some rules this weekend. I think it would be fun if we keep the hiring/firing out and just have a bunch of guys that want to re-sim history.

I've been thinking about the sim schedule and here is what I propose...
Monday - April through May Tuesday - June through July 30th (to allow extra day of trading) Wednesday - July 31st through August Thursday - Remainder of season (allows September call-ups) Friday - Series Saturday - Draft Lists due and opening day file ready Sunday - A day of rest This schedule is similar to 20CC except that I wanted to give people a chance to have September call-ups to look at the rookies, etc., so I added the extra day.

The other alternative would be to complete a season every two weeks instead of every week. Schedule would be something like this:
Monday - April Tuesday - May through June 15 Wednesday - June 16th through July 30th Thursday - July 31st through August Friday - September Saturday - Series and then use the 2nd week to draft on BOSI. I'm still tossing around ideas, so let me know what you think.
