Indefinite Simming

It would be cool if you could have the computer sim forever and ever without having to press buttons.

You can. Select a date to sim to far in the future from the Play drop down menu.

It lets you sim to next year but not past that.

and it always stops the sim for some trade or other event. It would be nice to have the option to ignore all events when simming.

I sim several (50-100) years in advance whenever I set up a new league all the time to make sure nothing is out of wack. I set up my team, store it, then select some future date, let the game engine play to that date and if it looks good, restore the initial league and play it.
