imported a player from historical database everything went fine said he should be in freeagents not there also not on team help

is he by-chance in the draft pool? Only options if import was truly successful are Draft Pool, Free Agent, or assigned team. use the search function and see if he is in the game somewhere ....

Unfortunately, I've also discovered that imported historical players are not being placed in the FA pool as used to be the case in previous versions. This is most likely a bug. However, as stated you can find the imported player through a player search.

strange. in my (fictional) game, the players all go to draft pool or Free Agency without issue. Don't know. Might be a bug as suggested. Maybe post this in the bug forum and read Lukas' sig for how to upload files for them to check out.
The Development team is generally good about getting to them and getting back to you relatively quickly.

Hmm. Are you sure that's the case when you import a historical player? Can confirm that I have no problem when I create a fictional player they go strait to the FA pool as designed. However, when I import a historical player they are created, but then disappear instead of being placed in the FA pool and I can only find them by doing a player search.

I had no issues with this. I just finished a fictional first season and imported manually 80 real players (32 major league players and 48 minor league players) and they all went into the free agent pool.

yep. i'm certain. i place my imported players into the draft pool, which is only visible during a 30 day period before the draft (you can select other times). but i can find them anytime by a player search, which sort of sounds like what MAY be happening in your case.
To check, you can change the reveal times on the draft pool and see if that's where the players are located. otherwise, i'm uncertain what could be going on.

Wonder if it has to do with timing. So far, I've been testing this in the middle of my season. I'll try it again during the offseason and see if that makes a difference.
