What are some good expansion team cities & names?

I'm terrible at naming things. Help me out here. What are some good team names & cities? Ideally, realistic teams that could potentially be made in the future.

Here's what I have so far.

Some cities that could use a team

Las Vegas
Louisville
Charlotte
Vancouver
San Jose
Portland
Brooklyn
Montreal Expos

Mexico City could be a legit thing, that city is huge. New Orleans, Edmonton,Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma City as well. Doesn't seem realistic that Maui or Honolulu could do it but I would think about it, and maybe San Jose, Puerto Rico gets a team. I would avoid remakes or teams in the same state, and Cali definitely doesn't need another team.

I'd go w/ the Expos for one of them. For the other, here's some suggestions:

Las Vegas

- Riders (as in the poker term "let it ride")
- High-rollers (or Rollers, for short, if you wanna take the Rays route)
- Sharks
- Shooters (Craps)
- Bookies (for tongue-in-cheek, Pete Rose fans)

Louisville

- Sluggers (self-explanatory)
- Stallions/Colts/Broncos/Mustangs (plays to Kentucky Derby)

Charlotte

- Flyers ("first in flight")

That's about all I got for now. Basically, just find out what each city is best known for and branch your way out from there.

These days it is easy to go onto wikipedia or valid historical websites and research city and regional history. That way you can find out about important themes, industries, events, landmarks, personalities etc and occasionally get some creative and unique names, without going overboard and getting too esoteric. I mean, an occasional "Reds" or "Cardinals" are nice too.

i'd say there's an obligation to call one the Knights, if you are a fan of the greatest baseball movie of all-time

kidding, but i did like it a lot as a kid and less as an adult... pretty corny/cheesey writing and not much of a developed plot, if honest about the movie -- great for kids for sure. i always turn one small market franchise into the Knights. (lately it's been milwaukee). i make them my best competition through market size / settings.

i still have to find a better logo than the "LV" letters. (las vegas knights, too many new york teams as it is)
