Yikesssss. Harder to sell a high-level 1B right now than a house in 2009. I feel like I have been watching the same cards get re-posted over and over all week.

By the way, since you're reading this, interested in my Peak Killebrew??

I'm waiting for Jimmie Foxx or Norm Cash for around 20k lol. Might just get Goldschmidt cause he's decent this year.

I was stoked to snag Brouthers the other night. Finally. I was unable to pull or land him in '19. Now I can start to build my Great Lakes theme team around him.

Come King Kelly! There is a field waiting for you in Detroit... Another I was never able to snag in '19.

Because there are decent live 1B this year. Last year there were exactly none.

Plus, there are 2 nearly identical gold Rod Carew cards (1 listed as 2B, 1 listed as 1B, both of course can play 1B). So, there's double the Carew goodness; these cards should play really well in perfect leagues, like his gold card did in 19 (these 2 cards in 20 are nearly identical to his card in 19).

There's also a solid diamond Pete Rose 1B card this year. Funny that card is nearly identical to the Pete Rose gold OF card (with a little higher GAP and BB), unfortunately the OF card is untrainable at 1B. The diamond Pete runs over 20K typically but usually doesn't last long in the AH, so some folks are buying, they're just being smarter with their PP for 1B.

Additionally, some people (like me) plan to utilize players from other positions at 1B. There are a lot of good hitters who are bad defenders at their other positions who can play a passable 1B just by virtue of being tall.

I recently acquired a Harvey Kuenn well below market value who I anticipate using at 1B long term (and probably utility IF even longer term as my team outgrows him).

While not being the greatest hitter, Ripken plays amazing 1b defense.
