Twitch???
Anyone ever think about streaming on Twitch? I actually started getting into watching some of the streams lately. Never thought it would be much fun watching someone else play games but it is. It's a nice way to pick up new tips and tricks and to see how different people approach the game. Anyhow would love to see some people do some streaming with OOTP.

I'd imagine watching me wasting a lot of time thinking about whether to draft that lefty reliever or second baseman would be as boring as watching grass grow...

Depends on whether that is your kind of thing, but I'd say that OOTP in general doesn't lend itself to streaming / Youtube all that much.
I mean, *I* am a pretty serious nerd, but I don't think I could be bothered...

There's a guy who calls himself Eddy Vegas on Twitch and who would live-cast his fictional OOTP league on Twitch sometimes. He would name players after people in his chat room.
I found out about him and started talking to him, and he created a team with players named after the OOTP crew. Then he live-cast a game between the team he managed and us. It was a lot of fun. He has a great broadcasting voice and would goof around a lot. He also did the PBP for the GCL Finals games that we cast on Twitch, complete with OOTP 15 and iOOTP 2014 demos afterward. Our YouTube channel has those: https://www.youtube.com/user/ootpb/videos I was going to see if I could find the first game I mentioned on his channel, but Twitch was slow to load. Anyway, I want to live-cast the GCL Finals games on Twitch again this year and also do some OOTP 16 and MLB Manager 2015 demos. |

I should add that there are some other folks doing OOTP casting on YouTube too. The catch is to have fun with it and engage the audience. Even if OOTP isn't as visually exciting as MLB The Show, if the host is enjoyable, people will tune in. (Yes, not nearly as many as for other games, but they will show up. Eddy Vegas has people show up who don't even know anything about baseball; they just think he's funny.)
Here's a YouTube guy I profiled: OOTP Offers ?a More Realistic Baseball Experience,? Says YouTube Star Ian Vogt And my article about Eddy is here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...roadcasts.html (I plan on transferring all the articles from the forum to the blog eventually.) |

i think people that have a purpose can be entertaining. It's not very engaging when you just click around and mumble about your team.

I've been thinking about doing this a lot because I'm completely bored with my league. I just wasn't sure exactly how I wanted to do that, but...I have been kicking it around because I think dynasties themselves are kind of meh now so there HAS to be a better way to create a more immersive OOTP experience that doesn't involve joining an online league and the slog that entails.
Will keep pondering. |
