Off-topic: This right here is why I prefer fictional to real-life leagues. There's VERY rarely a time when a trade just doesn't make "sense" in a fictional league. It only seems it because you know Jeter in his real-life context. Honestly, objectively, I'd probably trade Jeter for Nava. A washed-up, late-30s SS with declining defensive ratings for a usable, less-expensive OF? That's how the computer looked at it, and it makes perfect sense.
On-topic: Traded a good SP and a decent OF for an aging catcher with a 3-year, $18M a year contract. He'd hit about .280 with 20 HR the past three years - not worth his contract, but not BAD. With us, he proceeded to hit under .200 with zero power. Ultimately released him and ate the entire last year of the deal.
