Superstar $14M, Edmonds asking $28M

What is the deal with the amounts set in financials and the asking prices of players not in correlation? I always thought the superstar one wouldn’t be the highest asking price. That’s set at $14M but Edmonds for some reason is asking for $28M. I’d get even $16-17M but 28? What’s the point of the financial settings?

He can ask, but that's not necessarily what he'll end up getting. It also depends on the financial health of your league. If the owners are swimming in money, the players are gonna want their fair share.

Is there another league in your universe where $30mil is the superstar price?

I've goofed with financials before and had guys ask for $5 million when they should get $5k, because I had added another league with inappropriate financials.

The values in the financial settings are more like min values than average values. Players can ask for up to around 2x the value, so seems like a high ask but withing range. As people mentioned, whether he gets it is another story.

He really doesn't want to sign with you; he might only consider it if you pay him damages and compensation along with the actual salary. Hence $28M.

Maybe change the wording in the financial settings?

It says "typical salary", which seems to imply that it's either closer to an average or somewhere in the vicinity of what players in that class would ask for.

If it's closer to the minimum, maybe something like "baseline salary" would be better wording, much like you use with the scouting and player development budgets.
