Two Things Need MAJOR Fixes

I didn't put this in the bug forum because they aren't bugs, persay.

But there are two glaring things that need to be fixed (although 99.9% of game is INCREDIBLE).

1. When a player hits a double or triple during the live game sims, it takes 6-8 seconds AFTER the play is over for the play by play to catch up so you can move to next hitter. Incredibly annoying as it happens 8-10 times per game.

2. Stealing and hit and run is a disaster since the last couple updates.

First of all, 4 out of 5 times you can't ever steal. You can try it five pitches in a row and you just can't go. Even with having FIVE guys in my lineup 70 or above in the STEAL category, they start then stop. They just won't go - period.

So I resort to hit and run, where they are thrown out 4 out of 5 times on swing and misses against 50 arm catchers.

It used to be I could steal 4 of 5 times and now I can't go. Ever. It's incredibly annoying.

Conversley, the opponents run wild against me now and my 70 arm catcher (Ali Sanchez). Doesn't matter who pitcher is, I give up 3-4 SB's a game.

Can this please be fixed?

KC, I play out all my games and I'm not seeing those issues you mention with stealing. I rarely hit & run. Perhaps you've just run into an aggressive AI manager or two who like to steal since you upgraded? They do vary from team to team.

For the first issue, what speed have you got set for the play by play commentary in the in-game settings?

There is a bigger problem here. In 2019 MLB 8531 doubles and 785 triples were hit in 4858 games. So 9316/4858 = 1.91/g. If you're getting 8-10 that's way off current numbers. At a lower 6 per game X 4858 that would be 29,148 doubles and triples over a season. Something doesn't seem right here.

You guys are right - the 6 or 8 doubles/triples per game was just a random estimate. I see upon looking closer it's more like 5 total per game.

How do I change the speed of the play by play so it's not an issue anymore?

Also, am I the only one that has a team full of 65+ Steal players who legitimately can't ever steal or when I try hit and run, get them thrown out 4 out of 5 times?

In 2019 teams only averaged 104 SB attempts per season. OOTP accounts for this. It will not let you attempt to steal every time you select steal. There is also probably some factor of the catcher arm ability and the pitcher hold runner rating that will affect this as well. I play out many games and the same thing happens to me when I want to steal late in the game, but there is no issue here as the league will end up with very close to 104 SB attempts per team for the season.

Pretty sure the steal category has nothing to do with whether your runner can take off or not. The speed category determines whether you can go, and the steal category determines your success rate once you do.

And in real life baseball most steals are from a hit and run or run and hit.
