OOTP 17 Update #5, Version 17.7.53 Available!

Important: This update is only for OOTP 17 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version.
It is NOT compatible with the Steam or Mac OSX AppStore version! The Steam update is available via the Steam client and the Mac AppStore version is pending review at Apple, which will take some more days.

Good morning!

The last update introduced a few flaws which we wanted to fix, so a maintenance update has just gone live, OOTP 17 version 17.7.53.

Here is the complete changelist (compared to update #4, version 17.7.51):
- Fixed error where international complex got cleared if playing with scouting discoveries on but international amateur FA off
- Fixed errors in 3d movement
- Fixed case where the delete players who never reached majors flag would get checked by accident
- Fixed signing bonus not always being counted properly
- Fixed online league released player export finances
- Fixed award names in BB cards

Update Info: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Don't believe so. I think the only time you need to restart a season to see changes is to see updated MLB rosters in an MLB game. Unless stated, these changes should work with your file.

I always laugh when I see the catcher (or any other position from infield) running out beyond centerfield (sometimes left field) fence and throw the ball to first base to get the out. Will see how this one does.

I occasionally get the broadcaster saying the count is 2 and 1 when it's 1 and 2. Not a big deal but it's there.

Man, you guys amaze me. When a normal dev team says "we're taking a break" that usually means "we're going to vacation and play foosball and do some modeling in a lab with test data and maybe say hi again in Q4." Meantime you guys push out what, 5 updates?

That would be nice. I believe I have watched a bunt go out of the park. These things really fly. The description is correct in Broadcast Mode. The result is correct. But, we watch the ball fly out of the park. Occasionally funny. Most of the time irritating. It doesn't change the results though so it won't piss me off. I do keep wondering why it never gets fixed though when it seems to happen a few times per game.

IIRC, this was mentioned as an incident primarily, if not exclusively, in pitch by pitch mode, which hasn't been specifically addressed yet, as fine-tuning the actual movements for play have been the focus. I'm sure this will eventually be fixed; best guess is the summer patch, but I won't speak for Matt. Might be earlier or later.

Is the Mac 3D crash bug been quashed? I've been playing in broadcast view since .51 because worrying about a crash is a bummer.

That's good to hear. Mine crashed during the first game with .51. Happened to another poster as well over in the Bug forum. Glad to hear others are having success. Once you've crashed out a few times, it's hard to invest yourself in a game, which is why I moved to broadcast view.
