Position changes

Any way to prevent illogical position changes? Seems like I get a lot of left handed throwing firstbasemen playing second, short and third.

Show a screenshot please. I've seen position issues in-game but not LHT.

Don't have any screenshots at the moment. Just wondered if there is any way to prevent, for example, a 3B/1B type from playing SS or CF.

One example I can remember - I realize he's not a LH thrower, but imported Chris Chambliss and at the end of the season he had played like 10 games at first and 60 at short.

Why not?

If you have LHT playing non-standard positions a screenshot of the box score and a screenshot of the lineup page should take 30 sec.

Dola

You specifically mentioned LHT. A 3B/1B type playing SS is a different but not necessarily better issue.

Screenshots of both different problems would really help.

If confirmed we would recommend you upload league files for the OOTP braintrust to check.

Help us help you.

That's a serious issue and you don't have any saved games?

Do you not see a problem here? Why post it if you can't document it?

It's not life or death. Just a simple question. Is there any way to prevent position changes, weird or otherwise?

It never is. Just a game.

As for a solution, it depends on information. You have to describe the problem in detail. So far we have LHT playing middle infield then 1B/3B playing CF. These issues are totally different and may require different solutions. Screenshots would help us identify exactly what the issue is. The developers need details in order to pinpoint the exact problems in the code.

Why do I get the impression that you are not willing to show us the issues via a screenshot? I can help you do this if you are willing.

Please help us help you.

Just don't happen to have any screen shots at the moment. I don't save the games for that long. I'm just wondering if there's any way to prevent position changes. If not, I can live with it. I still love the game and will continue to play.

OK no problem. Do you understand that complaining about a serious issue with the game and deleting evidence of the problem looks weird?

Yes there are many ways to prevent position changes but there is no way to tell if you no longer have any games that show the problem.

Not sure what you want here. Help is available but it seems clear you don't really want any help.

Are you currently playing another baseball sim?

Sometimes depending on how many players are on a roster the AI may not have a choice. If the Ai ran out of SS or have poorly rated SS, Chambliss may be the most logical choice. Also depends on yor settings. PM David Limbaugh for more info on this.
