Okay, I skipped a couple of updates, but here's August 1903's schedule. No titlefights this month but some pretty good matchups.

Lloyd Marshall (#4, 10-4-0, 6KO) vs Julio Gonzalez (#8, 6-2-1, 2KO) lhw

Chris Eubank (#7, 2-1-1, 0KO) vs Steve Little (#2, 6-3-1, 1KO) smw

Jimmy Young (#1, 19-4-2, 2KO) vs George OC Godfrey (#7, 5-1-0, 1KO) hw

Joe Knight (#1, 14-3-1, 5KO) vs Vonzell Johnson (#14, 8-5-0, 2KO) lhw

Battling Levinsky (#15, 1-0-0, 1KO) vs Jorge Ahumada (#12, 10-5-0, 2KO) lhw

Jimmy McLarnin (#1, 2-0-0, 1KO) vs Young Jack Thompson (#3, 2-0-0, 1KO) ww

Eddie Perkins (#4, 1-0-1, 0KO) vs Diosbelys Hurtado (#2, 1-0-0, 0KO) jww

Earnie Shavers (#8, 15-5-1, 13KO) vs Rosco Toles (#11, 13-5-4, 2KO) hw R3

Cleveland Williams (#10, 16-7-1, 14KO) vs Von Clay (#16, 13-8-3, 2KO) hw

Top fight is former heavyweight champion Young against George "Young Chocolate" Godfrey in what should be a workmanlike win for Young. Jimmy McLarnin takes on Young Jack Thompson in a battle of future all time greats.

Here's hoping Shavers takes out Sam and gets a shot at Folley. There's a title fight The Acorn might actually win ...

Career Points Question

Hey, Cube, glad to see you back posting again.

When I started my Uni, I looked around and, since I liked many of your rules, especially the "Career Points" or "Retirement Points" mechanism that would let you know when a fighter was approaching Post-Prime or retirement, I adopted many of them for my Uni. Even when they added the auto aging feature to the game, I decided not to use it and stick with your methodology.

One question, though, I always was -- how do you figure the retirement points in the case of a win by a foul (a DQ result)? I always treat it the same as a decision, so a loss would mean -.5 EP for a net total of -1.75. Wonder if you treat DQs any differently in your Uni.

Thanks for your kind words. I haven't had a prime fighter foul out yet, but I think it should be treated like a decision. Perhaps as a TKO for the fighter fouled if it is a bad enough one to stop a fight over. Rabbit punch, hit low, head butt. Some of the other fouls, no, but the really violent ones I'd say yes. I always give a TKO to a fighter who is cut with a head butt.

That's an interesting question. I use performance points to rank the fighters until a weight class has 1 fighter in his prime. After that I use the game, which has the EBC organization added in. Once someone has 20 fights I switch because the game will only use fighters with 10 or more fights.

Well I'm ready to start the EBC Mark III. The rules are mostly the same, different cast of characters. Here's the link to the starting roster. Still setting up but I'll be ready to roll soon. Eternity Boxing Council
