Post trade deadline roster update
Sorry everyone, it's my fault it's taking too long. I was trying to do too much by myself until the guys jumped in and bailed me out.
Just about everything is done. I have a few more DSL teams to update and I think the Pioneer league is being worked on. All transactions have been added including all moves made today (ie. Joey Bats DL return, Ellis/Ruiz trade, etc.). I plan on releasing it on Saturday and I'll finish up my end of the DSL and on Sept. 1st, we'll release a last final official set until next years launch. So anybody I forgot to move, release, etc. let me know after Saturday's release before the last day in August so it makes it in by Sept. 1st. Thanks |

that's somebody did an August 1st Rosters and simed up to that date. Know updating Stats would take long and would have to do a schedule that's just a Month.

Updating the stats would take way too long and by the time it was complete, we'd be in the middle of the NFL and NBA seasons....remember the roster team are volunteers that have real obligations and jobs outside OOTP. So maybe that person who made the August set will do the same with a September set and you will have part of what you are looking for.

Just be glad you're getting an update at all. If you want everything to be exactly as what's going on in real life then just watch real baseball and you'll find out what happens.

you can do csv exports from various websites... one time setup of spreadsheet and it's automated every year after that... even automate changing the format to one that can be imported to the game. as long as things match up to what you will eventuall save as a quickstart or a template in game would work just fine.
the initial setup would be a small bit of effort (couple hours? give or take), but it's one-time only thing if done properly and with an eye to the future. if they don't do it / want / have time / whatever the reason, i don't think anyone should be sour grapes about it not happening. one of us could do what i suggested, then submit their work for ootp to use in future years. legality of using some websites exported data may be a problem for a commercial entity like ootp, but it isn't for people like us, the users of ootp. baseball-reference does this... not sure if oyu can do the entire league of individuals at one time or not... defintiely can do by team and leaguewide stats. there may be missing stuff, too, if they don't cover all the same stats as each other (ootp and baseball-reference). that would throw a little wrench into a completely automated spreadsheet.. but if the data exists out there for export, using 2 data exports is not a problem at all.
