Open trades crossing into new league year not executable

I had a couple of trades negotiated with CPU teams to the point that I had the e-mail from the other team accepting the trade and awaiting my response in my inbox.

I was awaiting my new budget to decide whether to accept, so I progressed into the new league year with the trade still only a couple days old, but after crossing into the next "season", the Accept option was no longer available from the action menu.

Is this intended behavior? I checked the CPU team and it did not appear that anything changed on it's side (budget, # players under contract, etc.) that would make the trade impossible.

Given what you've said in this thread and in your other thread, and given the time of year that this has happened, I think there is a very good chance you've been afflicted with the "two GMs" bug. Take a look at your staff screen-- is there a new GM that's been hired?

If so, the fix is easy-- use commissioner mode to set the imposter GM to a free agent, then set yourself as a free agent, and then re-set yourself as the GM of your team. At that point, things should begin to work normally again.

I appreciate the suggestion, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I just checked the personnel screen and I'm still the only GM on the staff.

That shouldn't have been the case since that was fixed in the last patch.

Did you click on any options in the trade menu email (example: counter offer)? That can lock you out.

Otherwise I'll have to get back to you on your Question.

I did read the e-mail, then proceeded to do other things in the game and advance through the next couple game days, but I was careful not to click any menu options.

It really did appear that those options only went away after I reached the new league season.
