Historical Simulation Confusion

Hello,

Not gonna lie, I'm probably making this way too difficult but I would love to sort this out.

How do you know if you are using the Lahman or Spirtze Database? I know in the manual it says click on 'Path to Database'. How do you know what the .odb you click on is? When you click on this are you using Lahman or Spirtze?

And where is the 'Random Debut option'? Is it the checkbox 'Use random rookies from all eras'?

Hopefully my questions make sense. I would like to use the Spritze database, so hopefully I can.

Random debut will use real players right in different time periods right?

Not sure about #1, but #2 is correct.

The initial stock of players will be randomized from all eras, and randomized as to what point in their career they are. IE you might get Babe Ruth 1914, 1927 or 1935.

Draftees will also be random, and 'enter' during the first year they played. Curt Schilling would always draft with his 1988 stats for example.
