Scouts input when drafting

I have a Legondary (Neutral) scout in one league. Ask him for a draft list and he see's top 5 value in players with below average contact. I guess my question is how much trust do you have in your scout? Does legendary mean he see's something we don't and follow his route, or that below avg contact is what it is, its not gonna get any better?

Thank you

I think this is a great question and one I have struggled with in my time playing OOTP. I don't pretend to have an answer for you and I am far from one of the more experienced gamers here, but I have settled on trusting my scouts perception of draft talent but NOT his recommendation of what player to take with any particular pick.

I don't know what the algorithm is that dictates these recommendations but in my experience I can make better decisions based upon a close inspection of my scout's overall evaluation of players.
But I have also often wondered if he has access to some information that he hasn't revealed to me yet and that might make some of these recommendations better than they look.
So early on I sometimes did just accede to his suggestion and I can't say I remember a time when I really was happy that I did.
Now, having said that, there are still times during a draft when I will ask for his recommendation and if I am unsure between a few players and one of them is his suggestion, I will let that be my tie-breaker.

I've learned to ask for a second opinion. I check my scout's ratings against the OSA's. This doesn't make the decision for me, but it's another piece of information that helps.
