I'm trying to figure out the process for assigning ratings to live cards
that somehow has Trevor Rosenthal at 73 (a 2 point gain on the season!)

No one knows and they won’t tell because it’s proprietary.
Relievers are hard to rate since 1/3 of an inning means so much. Rosenthal only pitched 13.1 IP this year. His initial rating was based on ZIPS projections which was even more difficult given that he had not pitched since 2017. He has had an awful year overall on a very small sample size but has pitched well since getting traded to a Detroit. The +2 bump is anyone’s guess. The 71 initial rating is a based on his projection for this year based on his last healthy year which was 2017. |

The +2 bump was due to adjustments made since release to the algorithm that sets the projected rating.
