How do the independent players work in OOTP 14 exactly?

I'm not exactly certain which form of players you are talking about, so I'm going to address three. Feel free to ignore the ones that do not apply.
1) International Amateurs - Young (16-18yo) prospects from countries with higher baseball quality. Teams bid on them out of a (default) $3 million pool per team. I landed a 80-POT catcher and a 77-POT shortstop in my game...in the same year. Got lucky. 2) International Free Agents - Established (26-30yo I think) players from hidden international leagues (meaning, it's creating guys from scratch for this purpose). Teams either bid on them as with #1, or they're just in the FA pool. I forget which. 3) Independent League Players - Established players from hidden domestic independent leagues. Get tossed in the FA pool when free agency starts. I don't know if their names are announced in a message or not. Hope that helps. |

Number 3, I don't receive an email and my scout hasn't discovered any in my three seasons so far. I have noticed some players though that other teams that have signed with other teams from independent leagues. |

#3 isn't found by scouts, I guess they're just tossed into the FA pool, and you just have to stumble across them. Would be nice if there was a news story with their names.

Would be nice if they were put in an email like established international free agents.
