I'm trying to balance that right now. The first set of changes led to too many teams in cap trouble after a few years. Not as bad as happened in early versions of FHM where the AI was overly careless about cap management, but there were still odd player moves being made because of the lack of leaguewide cap space. So I've adjusted them and we'll see how that works.

Will this year's version have the ability to clear all stats and start with a fresh history with a current NHL season. You can do this in OOTP and there was a screen shot that looked like you could do this for a historical season. Thanks.

Starting a custom game using the NHL setup and real players will do that.

Thanks. But what about using the world structure (Minors, Juniors, Euro leagues, International tournaments, etc).

I would also like to have the ability to import a player into the draft if I choose as well as being able to move the draft date. Currently if I choose 80-81 I won't see a player who retired prior to that year.

I assume the Historical structure editing in Jeff's post would apply to random debut.

I don't know if there are many other RD players but it is my favorite mode so anything I can do make it more a custom experience is welcome, assuming its a doable and I am not in the minority.
Is this still true?

I haven't bought the last couple, waiting on what I'm looking for. I'd like RD similar to OOTP, or at least close. If I can start in 1980, but use players from 1917-onward, that's where I'd be interested again.

If in Historical Mode I decide to add one team to the NHL for the 1966-67 season can I still do the 6 team expansion for 1967-68?

With the ability to save lines...does that mean we can save tactics too?

Couple things wondering if they were fixed:

1) in FHM5 expansion teams were able to pluck as many players from one particular team as possible. In one expansion draft I had a new team take eight or nine players away from me... Pretty sure there is a rule of how many players can leave a team during expansion draft...

2) In the salary cap years teams were unable to resign their star players for example Crosby and Ovechkin would become free agents after their first contract because teams did not have the big bucks to resign them, although this is very unrealistic as obviously those teams would do whatever it takes to keep them

Two short historical questions:

1) Can I keep the Ottawa Senators in the NHL after the 1934 season (by editing the league structure)?
2) Is it possible to change the playoff format? suppose instead of 4 teams going to playoffs I want only the 2 best teams to qualify, is that possible?

Thanks

1) I asked if I could continue the WHA after the 1978-79 season and Jeff said-yes

Does this game have world tournaments in the game such as the IIHF World Junior Classic or, the obvious one, the Olympics? And if so, can use edit whether NHL players are allowed to attend or not?

I havent played a FHM game in awhile so im out of the loop.

All the tournaments down to the Division III level (which reminds me, I didn't mention earlier that the new split in that level at the senior and U18 levels is in, there are III-A and III-B tournaments now if anyone wants to try managing Thailand.

NHL participation isn't editable, so the NHL players are not in the Olympics, non-playoff players can go to the World Championships, and everybody participates in the World Cup.
