Who are ya?
So while we're waiting for OOTP14 to drop, I was checking out ESPN's rankings to see who they think the worst teams are -- in order to maybe do a worst-to-first type league in OOTP14. That Astros roster doesn't really have any high-priced contracts. The Cubbies, Padres, and even the Marlins have a few financial anchors there. The old 'Stro's might be my team of choice. I'll have to see if I can find/make a cool Astros jersey to celebrate the change in management...
Anyone else? Who ya gonna be?

I will port over my expansion Jays and start a 2013 version (hopefully I can start out better than they are...)
When I decide to go for a third game, I am going to try a GM career and see how (badly) I do. |

Yeah I might give the Astros a shot, but not 100% certain yet.
A little late for 14, unless it's sneaked it's way in. But the Astros are paying Wandy Rodriguez, 5 million this and next year to play for the Pirates. I'd love it if you could do that in OOTP. |

I'd have to bet on the Astros being the biggest challenge in OOTP 14.
For support of this assertion see: Alex Rodriguez will make more than Houston Astros combined salary - ESPN

I'm still not settled. I'll probably just play around with simming out different set-ups, and waiting for the first couple of patches before I get serious with anything.
ps. Yeah, the Astros will be a fun challenge. Last edited by GrantDawg; 04-09-2013 at 04:00 PM. Reason: added ps |

I play fictional players but real teams. I always take over my hometown Tigers.

I'll play the 2013 White Sox and see if we don't choke in September this time. Other teams I might play as would be Pirates & Kansas City. KC's future looks bright.

Mariners...even after the crazy spanking the Astros are giving them today. (think it's 14 - 2 right now) My loyalty rating would be in the 190 - 200 range.
Lot of great prospects...plus they are carrying a shortstop who batted .194 last year in over 400 at bats. I feel there is a challenge there somewhere. |

I am always the White Sox. Always. No way in heck am I gonna lend my well earned expertise to help some other god-forsaken club win the World Series.

Die hard Astros fan here - so always the Astros. I'll attempt to do it Jeff Luhow's way - true rebuilding. But, with a few tweeks of how I'd have like to seen the year start.
Brandon Laird on the active roster. Justin Maxwell leading off (and yes, I know this isn't conventional), Altuve batting second. Edgar Gonzalez getting the nod for opening day roster and keeping him there to allow the youth time to develop in AAA (he' already been waivered and claimed by Toronto). |

I'm going to play with the Yankees. This provides its own challenges going forward.

Last place?
Do they still play the blues in Chicago When baseball season rolls around When the snow melts away, Do the Cubbies still play In their ivy-covered burial ground When I was a boy they were my pride and joy But now they only bring fatigue To the home of the brave The land of the free And the doormat of the National League Last edited by The Game; 04-10-2013 at 11:41 AM. |
