Feeder leagues and the draft
I have just attempted to implement a feeder league to my new MLB league. Before the season I chose the option to add a full feeder league system (HS/College) and then set the rounds to 30 (generate players for 32). Furthermore, I set all of the creation and min-max ages to what is recommended in the online manual.
However, once the draft pool was published I viewed it and there is a staggering 4,011 players!!! With players as young as 15/16 in the pool. Now, will some of these players be removed once the actual draft begins or have I messed something up? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!! |

For all of my HS feeders i have the min age set to 14 and max set to 17 with eligibility starting if "max age is surpassed"
not sure what the problem could be EDIT: Would it be viable to just delete all of my hs/college feeders and regenerate them? EDIT 2: There are 4 players who are 16 and 2 who are 15. It appears these players as well as many others (including a 28 year old) are not on any team in a feeder league... There are many players without stats who are not linked to a team, even though I chose the option "feeder league players only" Last edited by md5423; 12-28-2014 at 10:45 AM. |

I believe that because you are generating players for 32 rounds, it adds all those players to the total feeder league players, which is causing such a high number.
Usually I will just create a high school and college feeder league, and then use the formulas found in a thread here somewhere to decide how many teams I need, then I set the draft settings to "Feeder Players Only" and have them generate players for 0 rounds.

Thanks man, that makes a lot of sense... Is there anyway that I can delete all of the generated players or is it too late now that the draft class has been created already? go cubbies! |

There used to be a bug with feeders where the number of rounds in the draft would reset after adding feeders. I think it went up to something like 50. Still assuming 30 teams that should have 30*50 = 1500 not 4000+!

Just be aware and set your draft rounds back to what you want before you sim the next day. Only solution I know.

I'm having some real problems trying to incorporate feeder leagues into a standard 2014 MLB game...
- At first, I was having a problem because way too many players were in my draft pool... I figured out that the problem stemmed from having a HS/College feeder as well as having players generated for 32 rounds. - In my next test run, I generated a draft class and then deleted all the players in the draft pool (generated players AND the real 2014 draft prospects)... After i deleted the draft pool, I used the function to set up a hs/college feeder system but the new draft pool contained only 140 players. There appeared to be only 8 college teams and 32 high schools teams... I had the number of draft rounds set to 30, but 140 something players is nowhere near enough. - When I set up the feeder system and don't generate any players, there were still over 1,000 players because it included the real 2014 draft players (even though I chose the option to only include players from feeder leagues and not additional players.) What would be the ideal way to set up a HS/College feeder system for a standard 2014 MLB game? Any advice is appreciated as I really just want to start my new save, playing stats only and with a feeder system. Last edited by md5423; 12-29-2014 at 06:29 AM. |
