These I would keep:

1. Promotions/Demotions
2. Disabled List
3. Trades/Returns
4. Releases
5. In-Season FA Signings

These I would add:

6. Purchases/Returns
7. Loans/Returns
8. Jumps/Returns
9. Waivers/Returns
10. Assignments/Returns

These I'm not sure about:

11. "Bonus baby" signings
12. Trade "limbo" (i.e., refused to report)

If a transaction occurred before or after the season, it'll be ignored, correct? We're only interested in player movement during the season. Is that right?

I imagine 7-10 would involve fringe players (for the most part). Does 11 involve roster movement during the season?

Depends on if this is to work with career leagues, if so, then that statement is wrong.

Maybe we should move this discussion to the beta forum.

This would be a fantastic addition to the game. I'm not sure it needs to be as detailed as players moving up and down from the minors to the majors (to do so, you'd have to turn intjuries off, unless there's an override), but trades and signings would be fantastic.

Looking it over, I'm not sure I want to undertake this after all. I mean, there are over 60,000 transactions there. Even when I filter out the ones that would be irrelevant in OOTP, like amateur draft signings, I still see around 50,000. I think that's a bit much to keep up with for me. It would be cool to be able to have OOTP read the file and make the appropriate transactions, though it's not exactly a priority.
FWIW, I've been playing through a historical sim(into my 3rd season) and making all historical transactions for every team on a day by day basis. It really hasn't been that bad. I've been using baseball-reference.

I have to disagree as you can have the actual teams. You may have to manually create a league when their were 3 leagues in one year. Problem is that even retrosheet is missing a lot of the player movement in the 19th century.
So heres what i deceided to do.
If a player played 30 games for Boston, i released him after 30 games. Then he doesnt sign with his next team till they have the same amount of games that he played in left. Sure he may miss some games but its better than just signing him to a team that has 60 games left and he only played in 5 in real life. He might end up playing in 30.
Its not perfect but it does help.

Why not make it proportional? Like, if a guy played 30 games for one team and 60 for another and it's a 162 game season (just as an example), you'd move him from one team to another after 54 games.

It might work later but i dont know for the NA. Teams folded during the year and didnt play the same numbzr of games.

I am really looking forward to the actual transactions and lineups being implemented. How is that going? It seemed to me that it would be quite difficult.
