British Baseball Society

- League name: British Baseball Society (BBS)
- League URL: ::British Baseball......an OOTP promotion/relegation league set in the UK!::
- League type: Fictional in a promotion/relegation setting
- Special league rules: ::British Baseball Rules and Bylaws::
- Number of clubs: 24
- OOTP version: 12

Think baseball in a soccer format. We have 3 different leagues of 8 teams each. Two clubs are promoted and relegated each season based upon a points system outlined in the league rules.

We play an 84 game season (4 series of 3 games against all clubs in your 'tier'. Also run during the season is the Busby Cup, a league wide cup competition. Lastly, each tier has their own cup fought for by the 8 clubs in each tier.

We have a great set of owners with mix of vets and newer OOTPers who are building their club history one season at a time and would love to have more 'vultures' participating on our forums and joining our already long waiting list.

Awesome league idea and website. I'm not in the market for a new league right now but I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

I'm curious how you're handling new player creation. Will there be a draft each year? Is there a single draft for all 3 tiers or one for each?

Each tier is at a different talent level, so each one has its own draft. We just finished the inaugural draft. Preseason friendlies will begin very soon. Thanks for the comments.

Changed my mind. This is definitely a league I would be interested so would like to throw my name on the waiting list if possible. Is there an application I should fill out or is posting here enough?

Thanks, Stu. There's an app button on the league website. We appreciate your interest and invite you to become involved in the league through the forums while you're on the waiting list.

The BBS is heading into preseason 'friendlies' at the first of the week as three round robin tournaments of 8 teams each are being held at the homes of Leeds White Rose, Metro Walsall, and Ibrox United. Its an exciting time in the BBS, come join in on the fun. We welcome any/all who'd like to get involved in any way they see fit.

First week regular season fixtures and the first round of The Busby Cup will begin later in the week!

Pairings for the first round of the Sir Matt Busby Cup to be held on April 10 and 11 have been drawn and are officially announced by Society brass. Round 1 features all 8 Tier 3 clubs paired against each other with the winners advancing to Round 2 and placed in a pool along with 4 random Tier 2 clubs. That second round is to be contested in May on the 8th and 9th. All Busby cup ties are home and home series.

All Society cup contests share the same tiebreaking procedures. Those can be found either here on the forums or in the Rules documentation on the league website.

Busby Cup Round 1 pairings are as follows:

To be sure, excitement will be high on April 10 and 11 all over the Kingdom!

We've hit the quarter-post of our first season! All cups have seen fantastic early round results and the league tables are very competitive through the first seven series.

As always, we welcome members to our forums to write and get involved in a great concept in the OOTP world!

As we near the halfway point of the season, the Busby Cup has entered the 4th round and the tier cups are into the semis.

Invitations to anyone interested in promotion/relegation to come take part on our forums and get on the waiting list.

Only three fixtues left in the 1950 season as well as Busby Cup semi-finals and Tier Cup finals.

Great promotion/relegation battles in all three tiers and an upcoming offseason that had a small curveball thrown at the club owners. Its been a great first season!

I concur. Can't wait to see this play out and what the off-season holds in store. I was unsure of the league structure upon joining as I had never played in a league like this before. I must now sat that I LOVE it! That says a lot since I've been playing in online leagues since OOTP 3.

Are you guys considering running a 4th tier next season? I'd love to get in on this.
