Born - Waima, Yule Island, Pupua New Guinea 21(12)-8-2 Beni lost his only shot at a title when he was stopped in the tenth round of a bout for the Commonwealth Junior Welterweight belt by Hector Thompson. He beat Speedo Duke, Phil Davies, Ross Eddie, Wally Carr, Colin Cassidy and Jimmy Gillon. Drew with Carr and lost to Andy Broome, Kerry Bell, Steve Dennis, and Kid Matthews.

Thanks for Martin Beni, Chris. I remember as a kid reading in the Fighter magazine about Beni and his fellow countryman Johnny Aba. For some reason the Papaua New Guineans got my attention.

Born - Calcutta, India 7(3)-1-1 Nur fought briefly out of New York City. He had the makings of a nice little career going with a 7-0-1 record and a win over Ray Portilla when he lost his first bout; an eight round decision to George Collins. For some reason, he then gave up the ring.

Hometown - Wellington, New Zealand 6(4)-10-0 Fiso was unsuccessful in two shots at both the OPBF and PABA Heavyweight titles. He beat an old Aisea Nama and Fijian champ Waisiki Ligaloa. Was beaten by Peter Okhello and Kali Meehan twice and by Nicolay Valuev and Nama.

Home - Australia 15(9)-8-2 Won OPBF Heavyweight title on a DQ by August Tanuvasa. Stopped Bob Mirovic for the PABA belt and defended once against Tone Fiso (W UD12). Lost two OPBF title fights to Toakipa Tasefa and Colin Wilson. Also lost to Kali Meehan, Lennox Lewis and Buster Mathis, Jr. All eight losses were by stoppage.
