Do young players benefit more from icetime with an affiliate?
I am working with a club in Europe (soon to be fired as the owner has high expectations, but gave me the smallest budget to work with) and had a question about some young talent
I have an U20 affiliate and the goalie I would consider my primary backup is 19 and eligible for the affiliate My third string goalie is 23. Does my 19 year old benefit any more from actually playing games at a lower level, or does that actually matter in terms of development? |

Yeah, as long as the level of play is reasonable for him (i.e., he's not vastly better than the rest of the league, or in over his head), getting regular icetime will be better for him.

As someone who runs the league in commish-mode, therefore, unaffiliated
Do you suspect the AI runs this logic? Giving developing prospects ice time over roster time? |
