I'm not basing my opinion on the fact you called him a bum. He's not an NFL starter, never has been. If he's replacing Carr then we are in worse shape, not better.

Personally I don't think either of them are the answer, but what do I know. I still think it was a dumb move getting rid of Mack.

Um no.
Mariota is for depth.
Gruden has built the offense around Carr. Most likely they are going to get one of the top receivers in the draft.
Carr's stats have been improving each year since Gruden arrived.
The knock on him is that he doesnt throw deep but the raiders don't have that consistent deep threat. Plus why throw deep if you can keep moving the ball down the field? If AB had not been a train wreck people would not even see Mariota pickup for what it is. Just depth.
Or have Raider fans forgot about Connor Cook starting the last raiders playoff game?

The Rams cut Todd Gurley.

What are the odds he joins Brady in Tampa?

With his arthritic knee and how disposable running backs are I don’t think he will be in demand.
I would also be surprised if he is still in the league in 2022.

In hindsight, yeah, it would be pretty nice to have him on the team now. But at the time the decision was made, I'm not so sure it was dumb. I'm not sure how quickly the Raiders will improve.

If you're going to blow the team up, which is what it looked like the Raiders were doing, what purpose does it serve to give Mack a monster deal while they're rebuilding? Better to have the picks for him than to waste the money and his talent for nothing. May come back to bite them, but I think the logic is sound.

I'm torn on the Mack deal. We were rebuilding, but he was one of the pieces imo. Of course you can't pay every player top dollar. Still, it's a pass happy league and we're in a division with Mahomes.

If we wind up getting a real good starter with that 19th pick this year, maybe the trade will be more even.

Either way, our defense will be better than last year. I like some of the signings we have made so far, especially Littleton and Kwiatkoski. Our linebacker core should be much improved this season.

Belichek originally offered Brady, not Garoppolo, to the Niners

Godwin about to get a bonus

I see the Raiders took a lot of the Cowboys cast offs. TE Witten, DT Collins, and S Jeff Heath. Collins is pretty good. The Cowboys just couldn't pay him. The other two are washed up. Cowboys just didn't want them.

I don't get this decision. It's costing them more to release him than had they kept him one more year. A 21 million dollar dead cap to release Gurley.

I heard about that rumor going back to before the 2017 season. There were some youtubers pointing to the rift between Tom and Bill in that season.

I think Godwin keeps 12.

Witten is depth, Darren Waller looks to be the real deal and will no doubt see the majority of playing time. Still, Witten was vg in his prime, and his experience and leadership will be worth something at least.
