Stone traded Rebuild is underway in the Nation's Capital as GM Beauchamp pulled the trigger on a trade early Tuesday morning. He sends Mark Stone, Logan Brown, Colin White, 2020 1st round pick, rights to Johnny Gruden to Colorado for Ottawa's 2019 1st round pick, Matt Calvert, Sven Andrighetto and 2019 6th round draft pick. "Losing Mark Stone, Colin White and Logan Brown does and will hurt in the future. You are losing 2 very good young prospects in Logan Brown and Colin White. And 2 wildcards in Johnny Gruden and the 2020 1st round pick, but in the end, we might be getting a top end prospect, who should help rebuild," he responds. "Also, factor in losing a great player in Mark Stone, it does sting." |

I always wait until after the first season to make any trades; that way I know just how good or bad the team is. I did this with Arizona and ended up winning the Cup in year one. I signed Thatcher Demko in the offseason so I now have my goalie of the future(hopefully) and I kept the rest of the team in tact so the team chemistry wasn't ruined. Now I can focus on bringing in prospects to replace to aging vets.
