Fictional Players sim and history question
A few versions ago it was quite common for people to create a fictional universe and sim forward 20 to 30 years then delete all history to get rid of any outliers or mega stars that showed up at 37 years old in the initial draft. My question is has anyone tried this in 21 and is it still recommended to sim into the future before really getting into the game?
Also, if I sim forward 15 to 20 years do I just go into the commissioner settings and delete all history if I wanted to "start" the game over with the current players and teams without all the records?

This time I only simmed one year and while the league has started with most players being young, am happy with the ratings spread and results so far. Quote:
I also make sure service time is reset and recalc players/team salaries so everyone starts from the same base. |

I've only played fictional leagues since OOTP9 and have never simmed ahead any years.
It's easy to control the age and talent level of the players that fill your league initially. The options are there when creating the league. I don't get the problems of old age outliers or historical records that will never be broken. I'm awful nit picky though when I set up a league. Each and every single detail in setup that can be tinkered with usually gets tinkered with by me. |
