Got the game this month and have a couple of new settings I'm confused about
I'm usually very good with getting the settings exactly the way I want them, but the new ones have stopped me in my tracks:
1) Global Settings > Scouting Settings > "Use Last Scouted Overall" Not sure whether to go "Yes" or "No" here because I have no idea what it means. 2) Global Settings > League Settings > Stats & AI > League Totals > "Baserunning XB% (20-80)". It is set to 40 by default. Is this based on research over the years, and should I keep it there? Does moving it up/down increase/decrease the number of attempts to go for the extra base, or the percentage chance that the runner will be safe/out? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Good questions, especially number 1 as it's not clear what that means.

I have an approximate answer to #2. The higher the number the more extra bases will be taken, or at least attempted. I don't know if that means more aggressiveness and thus more being thrown out as well, or if it just means more successful attempts.
I do know it's a little higher if you set it to have an earlier year's strategy settings, so maybe more extra bases were taken in the recent past. That's very sketchy, but better than nothing.... |

Pretty sure that #1 was an attempt to "fix" the discrepancies we sometimes see between the overall ratings on the profile page and the overall ratings seen on the scouting tab. I don't remember for sure but I think if you say "yes" to use the "last scouted overall" helps to prevent the overall ratings on the profile page from changing or updating prior to a new scouting report.
Take this with a grain of salt though as I'm not sure my explanation is accurate. |
