Jeez and I have to be in the same Division As my buddies The Base Stealers and the Breakers. I guess there is no comfortable Division anymore now that we have all played against each other but I have a very long history with both of these teams and I am always Stealing ideas from the Base Stealers so this should be interesting. Not to mention the always tough Bobs Burgers and to top it off the Ballbusters who always give me a hard time or to put it another way...
Always bust my balls. Well.....Here we go again. Lol.... |

I got the Blue Rocks again
The whale interloper doesn't look too intimidating. I counted 66 Orcin Points, but no six-figure cards. |

here is a quick snapshot of the divisions and points. Playoff competition every day.
I must have upset the OOTP shuffling gods... being placed in a division with Zorro, Bob's and Breakers. Last edited by joehart; 03-04-2019 at 08:41 AM. |

Zorro, would it be possible to add a few words to the subject line of this new discussion list?
P412 Season 14 (2032) mini whale league. It will make it easier to spot and point people to it. |

Good luck everyone.
I have 2 other teams in Perfect leagues and this one is much harder than those. No easy team to feast on. |

#'s 2, 3 & 4 in team ERA from last season together in the NC Central. Good thing the VB Freaks (#1 last season) and their dead ball, humidor of a stadium are in the AC, else it'd be the top 4. Was going to train up Arky Vaughn at 2nd this season, but I don't think I can afford to do it with the arms race going on in this division.
Good luck to everyone this season. |

Good morning, everyone. It's a new season and, like the swallows returning in the spring, I have a new strategy. Well, it's not exactly new, but it is certainly new for me.
I plan to use the same 25 players all year. I knew I could never do it, so I sold everything else and spent the points. I did keep 7 silvers, so I could rework the team if (no, when) I change my mind. I also kept enough points to buy one specific card that I am still seeking at a fair market price. I am prepared to roll with the incumbent player if I don't get it but I will change if I do. I have concluded that shuffling players is counter-productive. Micro-managing is a small part of the reason that people win. The biggest factors are great players and luck. I can't afford the very best players, so I will have to be extra lucky. My contribution to the PT process is to assemble a team that fits together and is flexible enough to meet the variety of teams and parks thrown at it during the season. The various discussions of PT variability have convinced me that I cannot know whether I have succeeded without collecting a large sample of data, i.e. at least a season. Any change that I make to the perfectly-balanced team that I think I have assembled only serves to weaken it or throw off the balance. So the best plan is no changes. Slumps (and streaks) are just luck anyway, whether they be a day, a month, or a year. Who knows if the next guy would be better or worse? In my case, the next guy has almost always been worse. So why shuffle? Better to wait for the inevitable return to the mean and then enjoy that hot streak. How long can I stick to this plan? Who wants 2:30 today in the pool? |
