I've not historically been a fan of OOTP because I've tended to view it as a "price of hot dogs" type of sim that has that focus at the expense of statistical accuracy. The PT universe appealed to me because it doesn't have those elements in it--just find your favorite players and set your lineups. I've enjoyed accumulating favorites of mine, and I'm currently fielding a team comprised entirely of players with last names beginning with the letter "M". It's been entertaining watching how they do (short story: not well). However, I'm not motivated to repeat that process every few months. I understand that it's not a conspiracy--it's a business model. But ultimately I suspect it will not attract many like me, who aren't hardcore OOTP buffs, and lure them away from the other simulation options out there. As noted in another response, it will split the playerbase which may not be healthy for PT in the longer run. |

Just to be fair to all sides, PT19 was released in November while OOTP19 was released in April. PT was, for most OOTP players, a free addon.
OOTP20 (and thus PT2) will be released in March. The important point here is the game is intended to be updated annually for the same $40 we spend for the game anyway. If you purchased it in November because of the PT addon, then yes - I see your frustration, but that was a one-off scenario. The game purchased in March won't be replaced until March of next year. Another factoid is that the current release did not experience the "live" player development experience (except for those that were in the Beta). PT2 will be the first time we all get to experience that scenario. If I were you, I'd give it another chance. Had you known that PT1 had already missed half the year, you might have waited for PT2 and thus not felt the way you do. |

Does anybody know if there's going to be an ultimate winner at the perfect level after each season? Or is it still going to be a hodge-podge of teams we'll quickly forget about?
I didn't see it mentioned at all, but I'd love to know who's the best of the best. |

A Perfect League Champions tourney seems like a logical tournament to add.

I seem to recall something about game mechanics limiting the number of tournaments any team could be in at one time...
