Tell me about it. I have two teams in D382. Kenner Valkyrie (40+ point team) and Kenner Lynx (under 20 point team) and last night the Lynx swept a 3 game series with the Valkyrie, go figure! I guess you can attribute it to great management for the Lynx and lousy management for the Valkyrie (LOL).

Well, our stay at the top was brief. Right now, the cruel Gryphons are in town and we're helping to extend their winning streak which has now reached 8. Isn't it time they went to perfect and stayed there?

We really need to get our offense going. We just finished a 3 game set with the Milk Trucks and though we won 2 of 3, we only outscored them 4-2 and outhit them 10-7 and those totals were for all 3 games.
Ken Boyer, who's never hit below .250, is batting .170 and his only potential replacement (Lindor) is batting .208 (though his OBP is .317 which is much better than Boyer's), but I need him to back up the other IF positions. I'm looking forward to OOTP 20's ability which would allow me to switch Lindor to 3B for now and still have him back up the other IF positions.

Speaking of OOTP 20, anyone think they'll still follow their OOTP 19 teams once OOTP 20 PT is up? I'm not sure if I will or not. Maybe, I'll check in out of curiosity, but OOTP 20 looks to be a nice upgrade in this respect and I look forward to creating a new team or two that hopefully, will start better this time since I know more what I'm doing now. Then again, so do a lot of other people. Hmm....

I'll check in on them to see how they're doing, tweak the lineups and strategies and spend their pp's on packs to open because its fun |

Well since you posted this they are 13-13 and having all kinds of sudden clubhouse issues. I'm about to fire the manager of the first place team! Oh wait, can I fire myself? Oh... and your Clippers are 19-7 since then... just saying... Last edited by Dunzie; 02-28-2019 at 04:21 PM. |

I'm surprised we're still in contention. When I saw who was in this division, I thought we'd end up near the bottom. We've got 7 of our next 10 games coming up against the division leading Milk Trucks so that should be interesting. We're 8-1 against them so far which is not how it was last season and I certainly don't expect that to last, but it sure would be nice if it did.
It's pretty quiet here this season. Maybe you're all just busy lately (I sure have been) or maybe it's due to OOTP 20 coming out soon or are some of you just losing interest? Just curious.

I've been busy and trying to cut back on PT - once the novelty wore off it wasn't as fun as I was hoping, and I'm trying to get more into traditional OOTP. I'll ramp back up in OOTP20 but try to be responsible and never deviate from my planned theme team.

I feel similarly. The best part of PT recently has been the forum, to be honest. Perhaps tournaments will help quite a bit in OOTP 20 plus some of the other additions, but ultimately, I still prefer the control and extra options of solo play.

Yeah, if we can just hang in there, it could be a nice 3 way race to the end. Then again, if Miami gets to playing like last season, they could join us.

I'm trying to save up for a difference maker starting pitcher right now (god knows I need it) and hoping I can afford something nice by Saturday to help for the playoff push.

My 1B platoon of Freeman and Bregman have absolutely been killing it the last 2.5 years. Combined for 18.1 WAR and Freeman got an MVP despite only 111 games started.

One last note that is absolutely insane before I call it a night... the worst OBP on my team is Musial with .336... this mark would be good enough for 3rd best team in the NC.
Now if I just had pitching to round this team out. |

You can get a few guys like Dan Straily, David Hess and Sean Reid-Foley cheap. Maybe 20-30 pp. With the race as tight as it is I wouldn't wait until Saturday. You need them now! There is a sweet hitter too if you're looking for another outfielder, Bob Hazle. If you can find him he's always cheap but very rare. He could put you over the top.

I work shifts... and this has been a busy work week so haven't been able to check in to the forum as much... trying my best working 14 hour days to keep up on the team... but appears they do better the less input I give! After tonight I have the weekend off and will be on top of things and hopefully this is the year the Red Gryphs finally get out of their own way by playoff time! Definitely been their best regular season ever so far... |
