I have his pw but haven't even logged in, since I have enough to do with my own team. Not to mention having to actually do some work other than just playing (errm testing) PT

Time to make a drastic move. Altuve was really not a fit for my team, so I'm changing him out with Eddie Collins Sr. I think he's a better fit for my team (better defender, steals bases, and higher contact). So Altuve hits the auction house.
Sick of playing division games! |

It's hard to believe anybody is a better contact hitter than Altuve, but Collins is.

If you ever go back and look at historical stats, it's not hard to believe at all. There are so many guys with a k-rate that's about 1/3rd as much as Altuve's or even less. Hell, that's how they used to hit .400. But, it's a completely different game and hard to compare. Ty Cobb had a .378 BABIP for his career and was regularly over .400.

I love the mix of options provided by mixing players of all eras, makes it even more fun than being a real GM in that sense... |

Orcin, you just took the division lead from me.
We play 7 games against each other before the 'month' is over. ಠ_ಠ ... It's on. |

Yes, it's pretty cool. I am really digging the strategy that is going into this. I wanted to get my infield defense improved as well and Altuve was a negative ZR guy. Plus Eddie has more speed.
Of course, in the first 4 games I have him he hits 3 HRs too. That's a positive as well! |

In the meantime, JeffR and I are battling for 3rd. Crazy to think one of us is not making the playoffs.

Arrrggh… swept out of first place by the Pines. And it was at home too, so I can't blame his park advantage. Sale and Strasburg didn't pitch in the series, so I can blame the manager for not setting up the rotation properly. Oh wait... I did that.

I've got you 7 times in September, this'll be fun. Maybe you should let me win a few so you can drop behind Lukas in the conference standings and play the bot team in the playoffs while he gets the wild card winner.

We jumped ahead to September 12 overnight. I thought it would stop at September 1.
Edit: Markus posted in another thread that it was a server bug, so today will just finish early. Last edited by Orcin; 11-17-2018 at 10:08 AM. |

Big series coming up between Louisville and Portland. My best chance to catch the Pines. Unfortunately, I am an idiot and did not set up my rotation properly again. So Sale won't pitch. Oh well, my 2-3-4 (Strasburg, Corbin, Gaylord Perry) aren't too bad.

For some reason my screen grab didn't work but the other person I pulled was a Diamond Frank "Home Run" Baker Record Breaker. Nice card, but with Vlad there I didn't need him.
I also got a Gold Rizzo, but looking at him and Mattingly there was not much difference. In fact, Mattingly has better contact and HR power while not quite as patient. I put him up in the auctions as well. I also made the tough decision to put Ohtani up in the auction house. His pitching was not great this year and he never has been much of a hitter for me. So maybe I can get some PP for him and see if I can get some more sick pulls. |
