Spritze DB producing high SB results
Spritze...
I downloaded your HS DB and when I attempt to run a Historical Sim (Starting 1876), the SB numbers for the league leaders are over 100 for a 60 game season. I am using the default 1876 strategy numbers setting up as Real Stats, Career potential, 3 year for fielding, 3 year for pitching stamina... Am I missing something in the set-up? Probably not misssing nothing. SB's were very high back in the olden days (so were errors). Plodding first basemen often got 50 sb's a year. SB's weren't like what you might think they were. The rules were still in flux and changed yearly.

Thanks...
I have done just a bit of research after I posted my question, and did see that a number of players stole over 100 bases in the 1880's... I guess this is one of those stats... as well as the changing rules that you stated... that has perpetuated the pre-1900 records vs. the modern era records when rules have become much more static... |
