Difference Between OOTPOU & Statslab?
Are these 2 seperate utilities? If so is there any one that is better for an online league? Sorry for the dumb question.

They are 2 separate utilities and both work fine for online leagues. I've used both, and personally prefer StatsLab, but OOTPOU is a fine utility as well. StatsLab uses MySQL file dumps from the game, OOTPOU uses text/CSV file dumps from the game.
My personal opinion is that StatsLab is more robust, but I haven't really used OOTPOU in at least 2 years, so I can't say for sure. |

Statslab has more features and it's still actively being worked on. I wrote OU and really haven't touched it in 2+ years other than basic maintenance (You can thank my wife for getting pregnant for my loss of free time).
The downside to SL is that it is a little more difficult to maintain and install. OU is pretty simple to install and a little faster. Our leagues keep them both around, since some people still prefer OU's look and feel. Note that SL has issues with development in OOTP 12 that OU doesn't have. I'm sure it will get fixed at some point. Try installing SL and if you can get it to work, you're pretty much getting everything OU can give you plus more. I think there's only a tiny amount of features in OU not in SL.

I like the drafting better in StatsLab as the timers and auto pick features work better. Previously, Getch's draft utility wouldn't pick when the timer was up.
BUT, dev still doesn't work with StatsLab for 12. Still waiting on something for that. |
