But here's my thought--if you want to nerf the card packs, you should wait until OOTP20 to do it. OOTP19's life cycle is over half done, so there's less time to build a team. For OOTP20, it might be a good idea to nerf the packs so that everyone doesn't get into the silver/gold range so quickly.

I'd argue the other way, OOTP19 is by in large the PT beta. Even when the beta ends it's still the test bed for the more advanced features coming in 20. So figuring out balance in 19 is imperative.

Now how did you really do it?

I'm going to have to second Orcin here. I've opened ~20 packs myself, across two different accounts, and pulled one Gold card. One. And while I have sold some Silver players for a few hundred PP, Bronzes are basically un-movable (and only for ~30 PP when they do sell).

Assuming the average of 2 Bronzes and 1 Silver in a pack, I'd say you can reasonably expect ~400PP for selling off all the cards (Silver for ~300, 2 Bronze for ~30 each, 5 each for the Irons). Even if you pull and sell a decent Gold, that'll net you probably 2k tops, good enough for 2 more packs - and with current odds, you'd need to get pretty damn lucky to snag another Gold out of those packs and do it again. It's also certainly possible to snag 2 high-end Silvers that might go for 600-700, which would indeed net you a profit. But I've seen too many packs where the highest card was a single 70 to think that would be sustainable.

Now, if you pull a Diamond/Perfect to sell, especially if you get a high bidder, that might be a different story. But to say that you can make a profit flipping packs, on average, just doesn't seem true at all.

Card odds are okay the way they are IMO. Some people have been incredibly lucky (we can see the stats here) while other haven't. On average things look very good now from our point of view.
