Permanent Scouting - Not Permanent?

Just ending 2nd season of normal game,

1st season set scouting assignments to be permanent,

But throughout 2nd season, did not receive scouting reports except from one scout that I hired and sent in the beginning of the 2nd season

Seems like the permanent setting isn't translating season to season?

It should be carrying over. I'll do some checking and see if I can replicate what you're getting, sounds like something might be wrong with the report. Does it appear that players in the regions those scouts have targeted are still getting scouted, i.e. their scouting level is going up from E to A?

No luck getting it to replicate for me, my permanent scouts are still sending back reports in my second season. It might be that your scouts are out-of-sync with each other - the new hire is on his own 8-week (or shorter) timeline for reporting back to you, while the other guys are on a different one. So you'll get one report from him, and another for the rest (or possibly more, if they were assigned at different times.)

I will keep an eye on it, just started 3rd season so I just clicked on every scout and assigned them again, so will try and monitor season 4

It's not permanent, this has been an issue since the game came out. No fix yet still lol, prob won't be one
At the start of every new season you have to just redo the scouting for it to work

Thanks, let me know what you see. I've looked through a few multiseason save games where scouts are set to permanent assignments, and they seem to be reporting back normally after the first season - e.g., in Adam's twitch stream save from this week, we're at the end of 2018-19 and I don't think he's adjusted the scouting settings since the start, and we just got a scouting report with 100+ players. But it could be there's something going wrong with scouting a particular region or league, so if it happens to you again, we can narrow down the possibilities.

I had one season in a Historical Franchise where the scouts had no assignment at the beginning of the season, where they had been set to permanent. Playing as the Seals so it probably occurred in early 70's. After that they stayed permanent.

Was scouting in the team controls setting set to "Assistant" when that happened?

It shouldn't have been. I always set myself as in control of scouting. It's possible I wasn't paying attention and clicked it off while adjusting other things.

OK. I haven't been able to replicate the lost assignments yet, but I'll keep looking at this as we're testing the new update.
